African Leopard Poster The African Leopard (Panthera pardus pardus) is predatory feline native to south and central part of Africa. It is one of nine subspecies of leopard and the nominate species. It is a skilled hunter, and can run at speeds up to 36 mph (58 kph), jump forward 20 feet (6 meters) and leap 10 feet (3 m) straight up in the air.
