Asiatic Lion Poster The Asiatic or Persian Lion (Panthera leo persica) is a large predatory feline that historically ranged from southeastern Europe, the Black Sea basin, Caucasus, Persia, Mesopotamia, Baluchistan, and the Indian subcontinent from Sind in the west to Bengal in the east. Today, however, it can only be found in a small, protected area of the Gir National Park in Gujarat, India.
